Mobenga and Tote Tasmania team up for mobile gaming and betting

Mobenga, the Swedish mobile gaming and content provider has signed a deal with Tote Tasmania to be the first mobile sports and gaming provider in Australia.

The service, which features mobile internet, iphone and download applications, will be released in 2010. The alliance comes shortly after Tote Tasmania's future was assured by the state of Tasmania who were going to sell the operation.

Mobenga only recently signed a deal with Paddy Power, the Irish bookmaker who this year purchased the Australian Sport betting company, IASbet.com (International All Sports)

Tote Tasmania has a fixed odds betting service powered by Centrebet.com.

In partnership with Agility Interactive, Tote Tasmania will be looking to take sports betting and gaming business revenue from the highly lucrative Australian and Asian Pacific territories

After a recent report in Australia by the Productivity Commission, it is widely expected that the current online gaming ban in Australia will be lifted in 2010. After which, a highly regulated Australian online gambling environment can be established to stop the outflow of revenue to offshore sgaming sites.
