International Casino Giants Bidding For NY Licences

We talked in these pages in recent weeks about the rush for casino licenses here in Australia, and the number of bids coming in from big international companies and from developers here in Australia, as well.

There are so many bids on the table, in fact, that the State Governments here in Australia can afford to be pretty fussy about which they consider, leaving them in the positive position of demanding a high standard of casino resort, ensuring the sustainability of any project, and making sure that the impact of a new casino resort development is positive on the local and wider area economically and ecologically.

And we talked here about the shift that seems to be taking place in the States, with the Las Vegas casinos in particular taking note of the success of casino resorts all around the world, and beginning to offer their customers the same breadth of experience you’ll find at Australian Casino resorts like The Star, Crown Melbourne and the new Crown Perth.

For the proposed casino licenses in New York, it looks like all these things add up to the same desirability that we’re seeing in Australia’s casino licenses. There are four licenses available, and 17 offers on the table, which tells you pretty much everything you need to know about the demand for them!

Last year’s law change means that there could eventually be as many as seven casino resorts in the state, and these four are the first batch. There doesn’t seem to be any doubt in the minds of a raft of investors about the potential success of casino resorts in New York – but then, we suppose, if you take the Australian Casino resorts as a test case, there’s no reason to think otherwise!

We’ll be keeping an eye out for any more news of the progress of those casino resorts and of the online casinos in New York and in the States in general – rest assured you’ll see any exciting developments in these pages when we find them...
